Scope of work:

• Our brief for the Alpha Steet project included the under slab groundworks and a piled Comdeck foundation for a low-rise, 3 storey apartment building.
• The main challenge of this project was access. Set in a busy town centre, the project required road closures and traffic management. In addition to working within these restrictions, there were also severe space limitations on the site. The footprint of the new building filled most of the available area creating logistical challenges for construction. From our experience with restricted sites, we were able to overcome the constraints using our Hutte 204 piling rig without major difficulties.
• This project also required a complete sub-slab groundworks package including the initial site clearance, reduced level dig, the installation of drainage and extensive service ducts.
• Despite external issues delaying the start of the project, the speed and flexibility of the Comdeck system meant that we were able to catch up the time lost and complete our works a week ahead of the original programme.
